Young Immigrants Motivated to Succeed

Zydalis Bauer has been a part of the digital story workshops, and in one of those workshops a group of immigrants who had recently arrived in the United States took part.  For Zydalis, that experience was a challenge, learning about these stories of courage that made her fear of not speaking Spanish well seem trivial.  “Sometimes after doing the workshops, you realize that it’s not just about making a video, it’s about connecting, understanding, and the compassion that you feel for each other.  I admire the strength of these young people and anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation,” Zydalis concludes. 

Zydalis Bauer ha sido parte de talleres de historias digitales, en uno de esos talleres participaron un grupo de inmigrantes que habían llegado recientemente a los Estados Unidos. Aquella experiencia fue un reto para Zydalis al conocer de cerca esas historias llenas de valentía que hicieron que su temor de no hablar bien el español pasara a un tercer plano. “A veces después de terminar los talleres, tú descubres que no se trata solo de finalizar un video, se trata de conectar, de entender y de la compasión que gana el uno del otro. Yo admiro la fuerza de esos jóvenes y de cualquiera que esté en una situación similar”, cierra su intervención Zydalis.
