Javier Luengo Garrido es el coordinador del ACLU de Massachusetts’ Proyecto de Protección al Inmigrante (IPP). Garrido nos explicará el principal objetivo de la Ordenanza de Confianza, la cual busca crear conversaciones fluidas entre el gobierno y la comunidad. Garrido también nos hablará del origen de esta ley y por último cómo la ordenanza no es contraria a ninguna ley federal, ni limita al departamento de policía de la ciudad.
Host Veronica Garcia talks with our guest about the Ordenanza de Confianza, also known as the Welcoming Trust Ordinance.
Javier Luengo Garrido is the coordinator of the ACLU of Massachusetts’ Immigration Protection Project (IPP). Garrido will explain the main objective of the Welcoming Trust Ordinance, which works to open fluid conversations between the government and the community. He will also talk about the origins of the law and finally, how the ordinance is not contrary to any federal law and is not limited to the local police department.
